or anyone else really into poetry for that matter!)

I am looking for some quatrains by Hanzala of Badghis.. possible the first poet to write in the dari language.

I have read them in english in E.G. Brownes "A Literary History of Persia".. and one of them discusses the beauty spot (khal) on his beloveds cheek as being rue thrown into a fire... the other one discusses power, saying it rests in the lions jaw and sieze it from there.

Do you know what the quatrains are in dari?

Its important that I find them :)
Thanks,
Shareef

Salaam Shareef jan,
"A quatrain is a poem or part of a poem comprised of four lines with an established rhyme and rhythm scheme. Rhyme is identified as words whose final vowels and consonants are the same, making the lines sound alike. In quatrains, there is no specific rule that the rhyme scheme must adhere to, however, each set of four lines should follow the same pattern."
I think in Dari they are called Rubaie because rubayat also have 4 lines which have the same pattern. If not all four line the three lines end with the same word or phrase. About the poet I have never heard of him before yes I did find one of his quatrains the one that you mentioned and it was beautiful. Sorry that I couldn’t have been of any help.
I do know lots of rubayaat of khyaam if you are interested in and if that is what quatrain mean.
Here is one:
