i really love pekee ye arwalai or something like that by Baryalai samadi but i picked "daa ghroona ghroona afghanistan dai" cause it has nice beats to it and because it mentions almost all the provinces in afghanistan and what they are known for.:) :)

Baryalai Samadi and Daud Hanif both sing the best Attan songs.

Daud Hanif gives more varitions to his songs, such as 6-10 step beats, however, I don't like his Pashto accent.

Baryalai Samadi's Zargarra Jor Krra is as cool as my "almost long hairstyle" ;)

By the way, I could translate this song for you, but its a 20 minute long song, so might take a while...

I really like fast attan songs, and almost hate the Kabuli attan they play in weddings, it just gets on my nerves to see Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeveryone doing attan to that, even girls with half naked clothes on. :huh1:

exactly well said about the kabulie attan. At my cousins wedding we just told the singer to play "pekee arwalai" on the CD player. IT's just that Farsi attan doesn't have that many beats to it and u clap every second and u don't have time to spin or take steps. i hope i am not confusing anyone.:)

what kindda accent does daud hanif have that you don't like? :huh1: i can only tell the diff b/n qandahari accent and the other one.

Daud Hanif is not a Pashtoon I think, so he has a non-Pashtoon accent. Its like me speaking English, there always be an accent there lol.

As for Kabuli Attan, here are a couple of examples of a real Attan and a Kabuli one.

He might be, he might not, but what we are talking about here is his accent, not being real Pashto.

However, I have much respect for this fella, he sings great, makes the best Attan songs and every Attanchi loves him.

Daud jan sings the paktia song really well, but Wajhea, lol...kinda weird, yet sweet...

hmmm I dont like that simple Attan, its just too boring you just clap n thats it, once once once....then twice twice twice n thats it...

I love the real attan with headshaking, doing those circles, turning around, sheeshtan da zameen and khestan and blabla u know what i mean...


my problem is, that i know MEN attan and no woman attan looool I had to teach my cousins namzat how to do real men attan hahaha

ok the first song is like woah c'mon you're not talking farsi... i mean i'm dari zuban too but i can change my accent if i talk pashto.. obviously it's not gonna be exactly like a pashto zuban accent but still much better than Hangama and she's a SINGER!
however i can't tell that daud hanif has an accent.. but that's again cuz i don't speak pashto BUT what's confusing me is that i couldn't find a Single dari (or any other language) song by him... all his songs are in pashto.. so if he's not pashto zuban, why would he sing all his songs in pashto? :huh1: weirdness....

ps. you can't say that someone is not pashtoon if he/she can't speak pashto.... there are dari zuban pashtoons too (for example myself) :tongue:

:D i don't think that the real women attan is any different than the plain attan.... but at our family mehmanis, when i do the attan, i do it like guys do :shy: it's funny and fun :D

Yes, you are right, there are alot of Pahtoons like myself who were raised in a family with Kabuli and non-Pashtoon moms, thus, speak more Dari than Pashto.

However, being Pashtoon, Tajik and so on is all about your blood, languages is not a factor.

And yes, Daud Hanif has alot of Dari songs, but they are not as good lol. I will post some for ya soon.

nah he isnt Pashtoon...im not sure where hez from either...but i met him once n hez got the farsi accent when hez talking in pashto[juss like in most of his pashto songs]

I do attan the girls way and i do it perfect. I don't think many afghan girls know how to do attan and the simple one in my opinion doesn't count. I have to agree guys look so hot when they do attan.

In Farhad Darya's "babulale" video clip, there is this one guy with kind of long hair and he looksss soooooooooo cute while doing attan.:shy:

the curent lovely mast attan is by javid sharef i guess beat e dobh esh ziad saf wa beland ast.. khob shana ha ra garm meyara.. lol

kajawee is more for girls to do.. it is kinda soft and sangeen coz in girly attan they kan't do khezak and qertak.. lol and ya u guys forget many other attan songs like wa zaro jaani narai baran...., khat me zanzeri zanreri dawray e neshoma..

i totally agree with you. Somehow i can't dance on kajawe. it's too slow for me. The one song i can really do mast attan on are: "Pekai ye arrawali" by baryalai samadi, "nawai starre mashe" by jawed sharif and nasrat parsa's attan song and any of dawooddd hanif's songs. Him and baryalai samadi are the best attan singers.;)

huh! well yeh farsiwan use to make fun of attan aswell and now they r eager for to learn it,

and Maihan the reason most of the audience are men, cz in Pashtoon tradition men and woman just dont dance togather at a gathering, unless they are close relatives... which is more "sangeen"... for instance a marriage party which is seperate most often...
