these are the ones i like. my sister's wedding dress was pretty much like the las t one.
How come nobody seems to like really heavy, beautifully coloured ethnic bridal wear with the nice heavy jewellery and all? Personally I think that would knock off any grooms socks compared to these white dresses :shy:

may be cause in our culture we are supposed to wear white and look simple and cute.:rolleyes
K this might be an ignorant opinion on my part (I highly doubt it but whatever) but sorry - I refuse to believe those kind of imitated white dresses are a part of Afghan "culture". Did all your ancestors get married in THAT kind of wedding attire? I find that hard to believe :huh1:
But yah seriously, whatever floats your boat. Wear whatever makes you happy.

ok i don't know how long it's been that the white dress has become part of our culture... but i know that my mom wore the white dress in her wedding... not sure about my grandmas though... i'll find out.;) ... and in my whole entire life, i haven't seen an afghan bride who didn't wear a white dress in her wedding.

"traditional/cultural" wedding gowns = green
(not entirely) as more technically put:
huge variety of tribes in Afghanistan thus resulting in a lot of mixes, and most being very "non-formal" gown attire, thus the affection to europe for a century or so
